In this introductory chapter for my edited collection of papers on Paul Churchland, I look closely at the influence of three different intellectual forebears to his work: Russell Hanson, Wilfrid Sellars & Paul Feyerabend. Each of these three thinkers contributed important themes and ideas to Churchland’s philosophical developments.
